RBA Properties, a real estate development and rental management company,
known as Raymond Brown Associates, along with its construction arm,
Condon Brown Builders, have been in the business of building, re-building,
and managing rental properties throughout Fairfield County for over 25 years.
RBA's particular interest in South Norwalk dates back to one of their first
purchases - a property on Chestnut Street in 1978. Their corporate offices,
together with their construction offices, also moved to South Norwalk in the early 1980's.
Since that time, their unshakable vision and strong belief in the potential growth
and revitalization of SoNo has been evident in their current developments,
including Haviland Gates, located on Haviland Street, and Coastwise Boatworks,
located across the harbor from the Maritime Museum.
Haviland Gates is a unique urban combination of classical living in a contemporary
setting. It is the first townhouse community in the heart of SoNo, offering new
multi-level townhouses nestled between beautifully restored South Norwalk homes,
with a wide variety of rental units. These homes are also the first in SoNo to be
awarded historical plaques by the Norwalk Historical Society.
Featured among these, is the 1864 "Burbank/Wolfe House". It was saved from
demolition by RBA Properties when it was still at its original location at
61 South Main Street in 2002, prior to the construction of the City's new police station.
RBA recognized the importance of saving an integral South Norwalk piece
of local history with its beautiful and unique 19th century architecture.
With careful planning, the home was literally picked from its roots, and moved
to its current location on Haviland Street, where it is now part of the new
residential Haviland Gates community.
RBA Properties continues with its long term investment and commitment
to the beautification, preservation, and strategic development of South Norwalk.
